On 22 and 23 May 2026, our installation-performance was presented outside France for the very first time, in Milan, Italy, at Biblioteca degli Alberi - the Library of Trees. The name could not have been more fitting. It echoes a line that lies at the heart of the piece: a tree is a book, a forest is a library. It felt only natural that D’Arbre en Arbre would bring its poetry and flames beyond French borders for the first time in this remarkable park.

A Walk Through Our Open-Air Forest

As night falls, audiences are invited to wander freely through a landscape where the relationships between trees and humans come to life. A journey from canopy to roots, from head to feet. A child climbing a tree, fingerprints resembling bark, upside-down forests offering a different view of the world, faces emerging from leaves... A gallery of tree and human portraits that celebrates this encounter, revealing both its poetry and its delicate balance.

Dreamlike, immersive and deeply sensitive, D’Arbre en Arbre takes audiences on a cinematic and musical journey by firelight, blending painting, video projection, whimsical machinery and playful imagination.

Trust, Encounters and Shared Poetry

Our sincere thanks to BAM Festival Milan for their trust and support. This adventure beyond our borders gave us the opportunity to meet Elena Gaffuri, a bilingual Italian actress with a passion for language, meaning and poetry. Together, we carefully shaped a dialogue with the Milanese audience, creating subtle bridges between cultures and experiences.

At the foot of the towers surrounding the Biblioteca degli Alberi, this site-specific project gradually took shape, and D’Arbre en Arbre succeeded in planting the seeds of its poetry in a new landscape.

Thank you to the many people of Milan who joined us for both performances.

And thank you once again to BAM Festival Milan for its warm and generous welcome.
