Artistic aim

Compagnie Carabosse is a collective of artists,  designers,  scenarists,  actors, authors, constructors, musicians, inventors, visual artists, all of them poets of Do it Yourself.

We are a street art company, and for over twenty five years we have taken over public areas on different continents, and we fight for there to be a space of freedom open to all. Just as our shows are.

Confrontation with the elements, journeys and collaborations move us forward.

Our principal claims are unchanged : to offer a generous street theatre which addresses everyone. Transforming public spaces, mixing our basic materials of poetic human writings, flame in all its states, iron, sound, and unexpected perspectives. The scenography of our shows and installations is often extensive but leaves room for intimacy, emotion, meaning, freedom. 

Setting public spaces on fire, while guaranteeing free circulation, making the air vibrate with the proximity between our work and the spectators, bringing a sense of humanity where we can no longer find it, transforming the scale of things, re-shaping perspectives, evoking the human need for the poetic…

The way our artistic projects are written, and the different ways in which we present them, offer an outlook on a world full of demands, of war cries, of tenderness, of humour, of resistance and of freedom.

Our shows and installations are made for everyone, and welcomes thousands of spectators: our creations explore scenographies of all sizes - on a scale of a whole town, a district, a park - while the actors play makes possible profoundly human exchanges.

In general, we want to live and engender good-natured moments, and to create and keep a sense of humour, and to pass that on to others.
